This incredible excursion begins very early in the morning. We’ll pick you up from your accommodation at 4:00 a.m. and drive two hours to Pitumarca, followed by an hour and a half to Quesiuno, the starting point for the day’s trek up.

Once we get at the starting location, our chef will make a delicious and healthy breakfast that will provide you with all of the energy you need to face the challenges ahead. Before beginning the trip, pay close attention to your guide, who will explain the specifics of today’s schedule as well as safety precautions that will come in handy over the next day.

Once you have completed your guide sessions We’ll begin this stunning and little-known trek through a lush valley, from which you can see the beautiful Ausangate glacier in the distance—the highest peak in the Cusco region. We’ll continue our trek to the first pass, known as “Puka Pass” (4,870 meters). From there, you’ll be treated to a truly breathtaking view, with the crystal blue waters of the “Pukaqocha Lagoon” and the massive Ausangate glacier just in front of you—you’ll be astonished!

After a brief break, we’ll continue climbing for an hour and a half downhill to Anantapata, where we’ll stop for lunch. Once we’ve regained our energy, we’ll continue ascending for two hours until we reach Warmisaya Pass (4,955 m), the highest point on the trip. From there, you’ll view Rainbow Mountain for the first time, in the distance, with its amazing hues and surreal picture.

We’ll descend for the final 45 minutes till we arrive at our tent near the Surineqocha Lagoon. When you arrive, we will greet you with a happy hour of food and warming drinks to satisfy your appetite. You’ll then have a fantastic meal before getting some much-needed slumber.

We’ll wake you up early this morning, at 4:00 a.m., with hot coca-leaf tea in your tent. Then you’ll have a great, wholesome breakfast prepared by our chef. Get ready to experience Rainbow Mountain and the breathtaking Red Valley!

We’ll hike for two hours to the viewpoint of the stunning Rainbow Mountain (5,100 meters). You’ll have time to explore on your own and take in breathtaking views of Rainbow Mountain, the enormous Ausangate Glacier, and the surrounding snowy peaks. Following relaxing oneself in the Peruvian Andes, we will continue our journey to the intriguing Red Valley (5,050 m). This is a spot that feels like you’ve walked into another planet, yet it receives relatively few visitors. You’ll be amazed not just by the stunning scenery, but also by the profound peace that will surrounding you. It just takes 30 minutes to walk to the lookout, which offers the greatest views of the valley all around. In the end, we will descend for two hours, passing past historic Andean towns and llama herds. If you’re lucky, you’ll come across some vicuñas, a magnificent non-domesticated mammal that has coexisted with the residents of Peru since pre-Incan times.
